Evaluation of a Mission-Specific UAS

This article discusses the use of UAS by law enforcement in a hostage crisis situation. A scenario is presented and a Concept of Operations (CONOPS) is developed to thoroughly detail the mission goal, strategy and tactics. The class of UAS appropriate for the mission, including Micro Air Vehicles and small UAS, and a refined selection between fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft are identified.
