Training simulators allow officers to master use-of-force skills. The Meggitt training study, Virtual Training Systems and Survival Humanistic Factors, looked at a soldier / officer’s survival response in high-stress scenarios. This paper specifically reports on 150 respondent veteran police officers’ perceptions, misperceptions and physiological responses when confronting a lethal force scenario in a virtual simulation environment.
