According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) an estimated 1000 eye injuries occur in American workplaces every day. Most of these injuries are preventable. A survey by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) of minor eye injuries found that nearly three out of four injured workers were not wearing eye protection. Approximately 40% of injured workers who were wearing eye protection were wearing the wrong kind of eye protection for the job.
