Havis Integrated Control System

The modern police vehicle is constantly evolving and becoming loaded with technology and equipment that, in turn, puts a premium on in-vehicle space. The Havis Integrated Control System (ICS) is designed for saving space, creating police officer comfort, and integrating the latest on-board technology.

Forward-thinking manufacturers Havis and Ford co-developed the Havis Integrated Control System to replace and mount in the factory dashboard location of the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan and Utility vehicles. The system package includes the Trim Panel, Touchscreen Display, A/V Extender, Embedded Processor, and HVAC Controls.

The Integrated Control System offers a variety of features that improve comfort and safety in the vehicle and provide seamless integration of the vehicle’s technology with externally mounted computing devices.

By relocating computers and external video sources to the trunk, the Integrated Control System allows for a flush profile of the OEM dash and a clean cockpit.

display is composed of extremely durable, chemically strengthened glass that can withstand impact without chipping.

The Touch Screen Display’s ultra-wide viewing angle allows for both driver and passenger operation. Video Mode 1 provides control of the built-in Integrated Control System vehicle applications, and Video Mode 2 provides allows for control of an externally mounted computer, laptop or tablet.

The Touch Screen Display offers NTSC Camera viewing, the Image Viewer and real-time diagnostics that include system status and vehicle battery levels. The display also features AM/FM radio controls, which replace the vehicle’s factory controls.

The embedded processor connects to Ford wiring and replaces the OEM AM/FM Radio Module. A sophisticated audio management system prioritizes the use of the vehicles audio system, so important communications are not missed (including the car speakers and hands-free microphone).

The Integrated Control System features tactile HVAC controls and a tactile Mode button to toggle between the two different display options. Other buttons control volume, brightness and blackout. The Touch Screen Display has four different illumination levels ranging from dim for nighttime use to bright for use in the sun.

The steering wheel buttons can be configured to control the User Mode, Illumination Level and AM/FM radio functions (band, tune, seek, volume). The Integrated Control System is compatible with a wide range of laptops and tablets, which can be connected to the system through HDMI or VGA cables.

Fleet managers can u

tilize the administrator password to save and maintain settings that cannot be edited. The Integrated Control System has a three-year limited warranty from Havis and does not impact the vehicle warranty.
