SureFire Fury Flashlights
has once again raised the bar by which tactical flashlights are compared with
its new Fury™. SureFire refers to the Fury as a “pocket-sized handheld search
light.” It is an apt description of this compact, 500-lumen LED powerhouse.
gives you four models of the Fury from which to choose: the dual-output P2X
Fury and the single-output P2X Fury Tactical, P2X Fury Defender® and the P2XZ
Fury CombatLight®. The P2X Fury Defender has a crenelated Strike Bezel® that
can be used as an impact tool or to gain pain compliance for suspect control.
The P2XZ Fury CombatLight features SureFire’s familiar CombatGrip™ design
that’s optimized for use with handguns.
P2X Fury was submitted for testing and evaluation. The P2X Fury has two output
levels: a stunning 500-lumen high-output setting that cuts through the darkness
and a 15-lumen low-output setting that greatly extends runtime. The 15-lumen
low setting is perfect for general tasks at close to medium ranges.
P2X Fury is activated with a click-type tail cap. Simply press for momentary-on
low and press further until it clicks for constant-on low. Turn the light off
and press or click again within two seconds for high. On the single output Fury
models you press for momentary-on and twist the tailcap for constant-on. All of
the Fury models feature a lock-out tail cap to prevent activation during
transport and storage.
Fury features a virtually indestructible Cree XM-L high-output, high-efficiency
LED emitter. The LED is regulated to maximize light output and runtime. It runs
two 3-volt lithium 123A batteries (included). Tactical runtime is 1.5 hours.
SureFire defines tactical runtime as the runtime (at highest setting for
multiple-output flashlights) until output drops below 50 lumens. On low output, the P2X Fury has a runtime of
runtimes are on standard disposable 123A batteries. Runtime on rechargeable LFP
123A batteries is approximately 50 percent less. Maximum output isn’t affected.
The use of rechargeable batteries can result in considerable cost savings over
Fury has a tempered Borosilicate glass window for resistance to impact and
thermal shock, as well as to maximize light transmission. An anti-reflective
coating minimizes losses. The beam quality is outstanding. The Fury has a
precision micro-textured reflector that creates smooth, focused beam with no
artifacts. The beam has a narrow hotspot with a medium sized spill. The Fury
has excellent throw with enough surround light for peripheral awareness—ideal
for both tactical and general applications.
lights are noted for their ruggedness. The Fury is no exception. It has a
durable mil-spec Type III hard-anodized 6061-T6 aerospace aluminum body with a
matte-textured finish. The body is sculpted to provide a comfortable, secure
grip in all environment conditions. It’s O-ring sealed and weatherproof.
Fury isn’t much bigger than the original 65-lumen SureFire 6P, the flashlight
that started it all and a powerhouse in its day. The Fury measures only 5.4
inches long and weighs under 6 ounces with batteries. Bezel diameter is 1.4
inches. The compact size and light weight make the Fury ideal for everyday belt
makes a number of belt holsters that fit the Fury. Options include the V26
Leather Holster (Plain), V27 Leather Holster (Basket Weave), V70 Polymer Speed
Holster, and V91 Nylon Quick-Detach Holster. Numerous aftermarket holsters and
pouches are also available.

a diffuser and beam cover, as well as a battery charger kit for LFP 123A
rechargeable batteries. The SureFire Fury has an MSRP between $155 and $175,
depending on the model.
