When You Need More Than a Patrol Car

The all-new, boldly designed 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup offers the perfect combination of power, reliability and capability. It’s an ideal vehicle for special services like evidence technicians, bomb teams, water rescue, arson squads, and DNR officers. Engineered for hard work, the 2009 Ram offers more than 35 new or improved features, including technical innovations, contemporary amenities and many standard safety and security items.

As Versatile As You Are

The 2009 Ram 1500 features a wide variety of models, engines and price classes so you can customize it to your exact needs. It has many practical and strategic storage spaces that offer more passenger room without sacrificing cargo volume.

Ram’s all-new interior offers up to 43 storage options, including the First-in-Segment store-in-the-floor storage bins with removable liners. In the spacious all-new Crew 1500, there is 124 cu. ft. of interior volume, and it still fits in a standard garage.

The 2009 Dodge Ram is available in Regular, Quad Cab® and Crew 1500 models in five trim packages: ST, SLT, TRX, Sport and Laramie. And you can choose from three full-size cargo bed sizes: 8 feet, 6 feet 4 inches, and 5 feet 7 inches.

Plus, Ram’s all-new interior raises the bar for comfort and convenience. You’ll find power lumbar supports, an available floor console with shift lever, an available premium instrument cluster with an Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) display, an available heated steering wheel, available memory adjustable pedals, automatic headlamps, and an available 6,000-mile Single Maintenance Schedule with Alert.

Impressive Power and Performance

The new Dodge Ram 1500 offers you a choice of three engines: the 3.7L Magnum® V-6 with 215 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque; the 4.7L FlexFuel V-8 with 310 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque (a 31% increase in horsepower and a 10% increase in torque); and the new, more powerful 5.7L HEMI® V-8 with variable valve timing and fuel-saving MDS, which produces 380 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque but uses less fuel—a 4% increase in fuel economy.

Another unique feature on the 2009 Ram 1500 is its standard, first-in-segment five-link coil spring rear suspension, which is mated to a solid rear axle. This technology is commonly used on Dodge Heavy Duty front-end suspensions, but the real breakthrough is in applying it to the rear suspension. This setup delivers improved ride quality without sacrificing towing or payload.

When equipped with the 5.7L HEMI V-8 engine, the Ram 1500 boasts a maximum gross combined weight rating of an impressive 14,000 pounds. Plus, its maximum trailer weight rating is 9,100 pounds, while still providing a hefty 1,850-pound payload.

First-In-Segment Cargo Management System

The first-in-segment RamBox™ cargo management system offers additional dry cargo space without compromising cargo bed capacity. These weatherproof, drainable, lockable storage bins are large enough to hold tools, equipment, and supplies. RamBox consists of two weatherproof, lockable, drainable, illuminated storage bins that run the length of the 5-foot 7-inch pickup bed and offers 7.4 cu. ft. of storage; an adjustable bed divider / extender that fits on the lowered tailgate and adds 2 feet of length to secure loads up to 7 feet long; and a cargo rail system with four sliding, adjustable cleats.
Standard Safety And Security Features

The all-new Dodge Ram combines active and passive systems to make it safe and secure for drivers and passengers alike. Standard safety and security features include: an advanced multistage driver and front-passenger airbags; supplemental side-curtain airbags front and rear; Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with ABS, Brake Assist, Traction Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM), Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist; four-wheel antilock disc brakes; Sentry Key® theft deterrent system; and dynamic front crumple zones and side-impact door beams.
