MNSTAR Enforcer Systems™
The IH 2000 Integrator Harness from MNSTAR Enforcer Systems features an integrated under-hood fuse panel with 22 fused outputs. An available timer plugs directly into fuse panel. Flexible circuits allow IT to be wired Battery Hot, Ignition Hot or Timed. Swing-arm construction supports console or trunk-mounted Switch / Siren controls. A sync wire at every light-head maximizes lighting coverage. The IH 2000 has a video camera interface with diode for brake sense. The fuse panel bracket uses OEM holes for Crown Victoria.
The IH 2000 is recommended for the agency that wants a single fuse panel mounted under-hood. The harness is designed to support a vehicle with mobile IT and digital video. The integrated fuse panel with MNSTAR’s Swing Arm construction allows this harness to support a diverse fleet that may include several different switchboxes or computer configurations.
Tested for maximum loads at –40 deg F to 221 deg F, the IH 20000 has a fabricated wire harness of TXL copper that exceeds SAE Standard J-1128. Fire-retardant protective loom provides uniform high-quality appearance and consistency to final installation. Detailed color schematics are provided with every harness, allowing installers to provide fleet-wide consistency. In addition, the IH 2000 features color-coded labeled wires for easy circuit identifications.
Mobile Specialty Vehicles
Mobile Specialty Vehicles unveiled the new Mobile Command Center for the Irvine, CA Police Department. Based on a Freightliner M-2, this unit is equipped with a satellite system for VoIP telephone, helicopter downlink, CAD, Internet, and video uplink / downlink.
The command center has two full dispatch positions, a conference / negotiator’s room, two interior workstations and one exterior workstation. A 60-foot mast houses two cameras and a microwave receiver for remote tactical cameras. A touchscreen controller allows any incoming video source to be seen on any of the monitors throughout the unit. The unit is 43 feet long with three slide-out rooms.
PIPS Technology, a Federal Signal company, has a new mobile automated license plate recognition (ALPR) camera called “The Edge™.” Just over 1.5 inches tall, The Edge is designed for today’s low-profile lightbars and does not hinder lightbar performance. The Edge reduces the processing burden on the ALPR processor by providing initial Platefinder technology onboard the camera.
PIPS also released a smaller, more powerful processor for a turnkey mobile ALPR system. The SupeRex™ III features increased processing power to handle up to four of The Edge cameras, while performing optical character recognition, hot list matching and alert notifications to the patrol car’s existing mobile data terminal (MDT).
RAM Mounts released a modular-molded equipment console system. It combines rugged materials with a final product about 30% lighter than other manufacturer’s consoles. No sharp edges or corners ensure occupant safety and provide a state-of-the-art appearance.
RAM Mounts’ unique molded faceplates incorporate a tongue-and-groove feature to prevent contamination of electronics and prevent the loss of important documents, licenses and paperwork. High-quality materials, finish and corrosion resistance ensure a long product life. In addition, the product is backed by the NPI Lifetime Warranty.
Modular design allows for multiple configurations for the installer.
With a variety of hole patterns and attachments integrated into the console’s design, the Toughbox consoles are compatible with a variety of pre-existing RAM mounting solutions. Molded interlocking faceplates are rigid and tough and have no welds that could potentially break. The new RAM Twist-Lock™ feature allows for quick and easy access to radios or switches.
Rontan North America
The Slimbar-S Lightbar and Mini Slimbar-S from Rontan are low profile, compact lightbars that come in multiple lengths from 10 inches to 57 inches. Two-wire serial technology allows for easy installation and programming. Directional stick capability, external mount take-down and alley lights are available on all units greater than 33 inches.
They have multi-sectional design with slim cross-section and are populated with high-intensity LED lightheads. Dome lenses are available in red, blue, amber or clear. The Interface Control Module is included on units greater than 33 inches.
Setina Manufacturing Co. Inc.
Setina Manufacturing’s new Gun Guardian allows quick, easy access to weapons in a patrol vehicle, while providing added protection to the officer from the gun’s sharp edges in the event of an accident. The Gun Guardian is available in two sizes, one for shotguns and one for tactical rifles.
It helps to protect weapons from nicks and scratches, as well as dust and debris. The Gun Guardian also conceals weapons to guard against thieves and gives firearms a less aggressive look.
Setcom significantly upgraded its Waterproof Liberator Wireless Transmitter. The Liberator can now perform in even wetter conditions and allows over 1,000 separate wireless connections. The handlebar transmitter enclosure and switch boot conform to the IP-X8 standard, which exceeds the previous rating of IP-X7. IP-X8 for the Setcom system means that it can be held at a depth of 1 meter under water for one hour without significant water incursion.
Setcom also increased the number of motor officers who can ride in close proximity without interference. The Setcom system now allows 1,024 simultaneous riders. The Liberator offers increased freedom and ease of movement. In addition, by operating in the 900 MHz ISM frequency range, the system avoids the interference associated with higher frequencies.
The Liberator is backward compatible with Setcom's existing helmet kits. In addition, the system draws the minimal power it requires from the portable radio battery, removing the need to recharge a secondary battery and eliminating a failure point. Setcom's Liberator is currently available in "Portable Radio Only" configurations for most popular Motorola and M/A-COM portable radios.
SoundOff Signal has weatherproofed its UltraLITE Interior bar for outdoor use with a potted controller and weatherproof connectors. The UltraLITE Exterior Warning / Directional Bars are available as 4, 8 or 12 LED3 module lengths in five safety colors with solid or split color combinations.
The 8 Module bar is available with Single Warning Ends, and the 12 Module bar is available with Single or Dual Warning Ends.
