Officers Need Help; Donations Accepted Online
Written by Law and Order Staff
On Nov. 29, four Lakewood, WA police officers were gunned down at a coffee shop in Parkland, WA. Greg Richards, Mark Renninger, Tina Griswold and Ronald Owens were shot and killed in an ambush before their shift began.
All four slain officers had been with the City of Lakewood Police Department since it started five years ago.
After a two-day man hunt, the man suspected of gunning down the officers, Maurice Clemmons, was shot and killed by a lone patrolman investigating a stolen car early Dec. 1. The suspect was declared dead at the scene.
Yet, the ordeal may never be over for the families of these officers. Anyone interested in making a donation, volunteering or just wanting more information should send an e-mail to email@example.com.
Donations for the officers’ families are being accepted by the Lakewood Police Independent Guild Fund at P.O. Box 99579, Lakewood, WA, 98499. You can also visit its Web site at www.lpig.us
for more information or to donate online.
