Panasonic Toughbook 31 and U1 

Panasonic’s new Toughbook 31 is a powerful, fully rugged notebook computer. With an Intel® Core™ i5 or i3 processor, 1,100 nit touch-screen display and rugged certifications beyond MIL-STD-810G and IP65, the new device enables superior data access and productivity for any officer’s extreme environments. Also available from Panasonic is the handheld Toughbook U1. The Toughbook U1 is a powerful solution for an ultra-mobile PC. The device has the Windows Vista operating system (Windows XP available), a reinforced flex-connect solid-state drive and the Intel® Processor. In addition, the Panasonic Toughbook U1 is the first certified handheld PC for MIL-STD-810G, along with a 6-foot drop and IP65 certified rugged design.

Rugged Mobile Group / DAP Technologies Kinysis

DAP Technologies’ Kinysis (8900VS) is a rugged, lightweight, hand-held tablet computer. Equipped with a Microsoft Windows® Embedded Standard operating system, it is fully rugged and sealed to IP67. The modular technology provides easy customization. Field computing is expedited via wireless communications, which is standard in each unit, including Bluetooth®. Data can be transmitted in real time from the field to the main server, or collected on the Kinysis and synchronized later as needed. The large, WVGA touch screen is anti-glare and operable by stylus or finger, even when gloved. It is both scratch- and shock-resistant. The fully rugged Kinysis meets MIL-STD-810F for free-fall drop resistance, immersion, rain, humidity and vibration. Environmentally sealed to IP67, it can withstand immersion in up to one meter of water and emerge with full functionality.
