This is the first in a series of articles on partnerships between leading providers of public safety solutions. Combining their talents can prove to be successful for these industry leaders as well as for their end users.
Tiburon & Intrado
Tiburon Inc., a leading provider of integrated public safety solutions announced its membership in the Intrado A9-1-1™ (A9-1-1) Alliance Member Program to deliver nextgeneration Advanced 9-1-1 integration and a software-as-a-service (SaaS) cloud computing model for CAD/mobile. Intrado is a subsidiary of West Corporation and a leading provider of 9-1-1 technology solutions.
The result of a multi-year, multimillion dollar research and development investment, Intrado has developed A9-1-1 with a vision of advancing the current 9-1-1 system to offer more effective ways of delivering expanded critical data that can assist in deployment of first responders and save more lives in the communities they serve. The alliance between Tiburon and Intrado brings this vision to fruition by delivering voice communications as well as text, multimedia and hosted data applications to agencies and their emergency responders.
Tiburon and Intrado will integrate the computer-aided dispatch system (CAD) and the A9-1-1 voice and data services through established industry standards. These standards enable the transition from today’s legacy telecommunications systems to IP-based NextGen (NG) 9-1-1 services in the United States.
Agencies can configure, test and implement NG9-1-1 solutions and services at their own pace according to the best use of agency resources while assuring the continued safety of the public. The solutions and services are fully modular and customizable to meet the unique requirements of individual agencies. The A9-1-1 Alliance Member Program helps content providers ensure their solutions and services are fully compatible with industry standards, while providing an open forum for thought partnership across the emergency communications industry. Through its involvement in the Alliance, Tiburon will work with Intrado to innovate and deliver seamless integration between Tiburon’s CAD system and Intrado’s A9-1-1 voice and data services. Tiburon’s CAD system will support NG9-1-1 capabilities and feature-rich multimedia content to be accessible to all agencies and their emergency responders.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with Intrado, the clear leader in next generation Advanced 9-1-1 emergency services. We are also proud to be part of an alliance that will continue to set the standard for the future of emergency response,” said Ian Archbell, chief marketing officer of Tiburon Inc. Intrado’s A9-1-1 system efficiently delivers voice, text and multimedia content as well as hosted applications through fully secure and redundant networks with the goal of allowing agencies and their first responders to enhance the safety and services they provide to their communities. “Tiburon is a highly regarded CAD industry leader and valued member of our fast-growing alliance program,” said Steve Lowe, vice president, Intrado.
“The Intrado A9- 1-1 Alliance Member Program is designed to upgrade the capabilities of 9-1-1 centers by delivering new lifesaving information and services. Working together with Tiburon, we believe we can significantly advance the capabilities of 9-1-1 for communities throughout the U.S. and assist public safety emergency response through the delivery of critical information provided through open industry standards.”
