The graphics on our Electric Powered Personal Transport Device (PTD-E) are new for this year. A small fleet of four of the devices have been used by police officers to patrol the Airport terminals here at SJC (Norman Y Mineta San Jose International Airport) for about 8 years. The final graphics design was chosen after several prototypes were produced by the SJC sign shop and tested in the terminals. The new design and materials serve three purposes: To better identify our police agency and the airport itself, To promote safety with ten times more reflective surfaces, and To protect those surfaces from wear and tear. The final color chosen for the fender wraps was matched to a swatch of fabric from the uniform worn by the officers. The front reflective surface adhered to the front of the utility bag on the device handlebar evokes an image of the side door panel of one of our standard blue/white patrol cars.
