Fremont Police Department
Chief Jeff Elliott
With the ending of production of the Ford CVPI, we decided that if we were going to be changing over to new models of cruisers, it would be a good time to also look at a new design. We traditionally have always had white cars with a fairly generic look, blue stripe and the door emblem was the State of Nebraska surrounded by the words "Fremont Police".
In selecting a new style we looked at changing to black and white cruisers but cost was a factor. We learned that we could change to another solid color with no extra charge so we chose on black. Officers and staff provided input on a design and this one was chosen as we were able to include our department emblem and could include our department’s motto and this was a very important aspect of the design that we wanted to include. The colors were chosen because it seemed to fit well with the black background of the car. The material is reflective as so to provide clear identification during the nighttime hours. Comments from the community and other law enforcement agencies have been very positive and we are very proud of our new design.
