Department Name:

Southgate Police

Department Head:
John Christmann

Location:
Southgate, KY

Description:
The City of Southgate had previously been involved in a merger with another city that was contracted to provide police services. In 2011, the city pulled out of the merger and decided to start a new police agency with an entirely new staff. John Christmann, who recently retired from a local Sheriff's Department, was selected Chief of Police and hired six veteran officers. While starting from scratch, a police department and a a police fleet, were established in less than 60 days. Since the City of Southgate had not had their own police force for many years, the goal of the department was to stand out and remind everyone that this was a new agency. The graphics were chosen to be bold, different, and modern, just like the new department. The Southgate Police car truly is one of a kind in an area with a heavy police presence from surrounding agencies.
