| Its, been kinda quiet in here lately. Lets post information about are selves and the fleets we take pride in caring for. My name is Michael Carkido and I was hired nine years ago to work for Boardman Township Police Department (near Youngstown OH). I am the Fleet Manager and also a EVT and ASE technician that performs all maintenance, repairs, upfitting and record keeping to the fleet. I am responsible for a total of 24 marked CVIP units and 22 unmarked units, misc Taurus's, Chargers's, Interpids and some SUV's. Boardman PD has 42 sworn Officer's and 13 civilian employee's that covers a 25 square mile area which 42,000 residents live and that number triples during the day with all the shopping and restaurants in this town. I have attended all of the Police Fleet Expo's and highly recommend it anyone that has not attended. I have also been trained in EVOC courses and attended the DriveTeam Pursuit Program to understand how to better Protect the Protector's that drive my vehicle's. I own a small business called Pursuit Performance that cater's to other local agencies for repairs and installs of equipment. I am sure everyone is in the same boat with budget cutbacks. With crime getting a lot worse we are down 8-10 Officer's and about 10 marked units comparing it to five years ago. My personal interests are Classic cars, Nascar, the Cavs, Browns and of course checking out other PD cruisers when I am out of town. I Also have twin three year old boys to keep me busy. I think this site is great to share tech tips and other info about police vehicle. I have not seen much action in here lately, so I thought we needed some.. Keep building and taking care of the vehicle's that keep our Officer's safe. Thanks. -Mike
