| I don't know of any official "schools" for upfitting - especially for Law Enforcement equipment. The Police Fleet Expo has an upfitting session/demo that is an excellent source of information. Also, most vehicle manufacturers have an Upfitters or Modifiers guides - check manufacturer's fleet website for availability.

| You can get certification from EVT Certifacation Commission, this apply's to Fire, police and Ambulance. http://www.evtcc.org/faq.htm Will give you all the fact's. On that note has anyone written the Police or Fire electrical. If so any pointers on what the exam contains to point me in the right direction for studying?

| Sorry I did not see your questions sooner. We have 15 EVT certified installers. It is a great way to train installers and be sure that they understand exactly what they are up against when installing. The certification process is no joke. The test is quite comprehensive and is a good way to cover your agencies rear end if there was ever a law suit. The study guides are from what is available from the auto manufacturers and other viable ententes. EVT provides a list of these study guides. But tell your guys and gals that this test will challenge them for about 2 hours so if they think they know it all and they are not going to study, they can count on failing. WE have had two groups that thought they knew it all. they were with us over 10 years and the grades said it all. The same group took the test after studding and passed. The test is $60.00 and is well worth it!!!
