Replacement Tires for 06+ CVPI

I want to know if there is a good, all season tire for the 06+ CVPI. Tire size is 235-55-17. I dont want Goodyear Eagle RS-A's. Those are whats on there right now and they suck. My former agency used to use those as a spare tire to throw on to get it back to the county garage once they werent road worthy anymore and replaced with Firestones Firestone PV41 (or PVS in the winter).

The tire does not have to be speed rated and can be a slightly different size. The car isnt in police service.

Tahoe PPV Winter Tires

The 2007/2008 Tahoe PPV comes with P265/60HR17 Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires. No doubt they're good tires. But, here in the Upper Midwest, we need winter tires for these units. There are virtually no winter tires available for the current Tahoe PPV. Make some noise Fleet Managers!

Chevrolet and Goodyear, what were you thinking?

2007 Rim Problem

Has anyone had problems with the rims on the 2007 Ford's ? In the past few months we have had 5 tires blow out because the vavle stem has leaked. Our tire dealer has not had any other problems with the valve stems. Inculding we have had no problems with our older cars. The dealer thought maybe there was a problem with the rim that is cutting the valve stems. Any one else seeing this?

OEM speed rated tires

Anyone out there have opinions, issues regarding repairing punctioned flat OEM tires and putting them back in service? Does a repaired tire lose it intergrity? Or just not repair them.

New tire inventory

If any other fleet administrators are carrying large inventories of new tires, how are you tracking individual tires? Can you follow the tire from purchase to discarding. I have the Collective Fleet Data software which has a tire inventory module but it tracks numbers only. Is there a barcode system that scans tires? How can we make a tire unique. There must be some sort of tracking mechanism that the manufacturers use in the event of a recall. Looking forward to any help.

Continental tires

I just read my July-August 2008 issue of PFM and noticed an article on Continental ContiProContact tires. I was surprised to see these tires being used for public safety vehicles. IMO, these tires are crap. If I wanted the lesser of 2 evils, I would keep the Goodyear Eagle RS-A.

Is anyone using the Continentals?

Pirelli Tires on '06/'07 Impala's

1.)Is anybody having a problem getting tires from Pirelli? I've had tires on order for almost 3 weeks, they say there is a backorder due to fact that there coming from overseas.

2.) What type of treadwear are you getting on Patrol vehicles?

3.) Would like to know if any department has switched or tried Goodyear RSA's on the '06/'07 Impala and how they preformed.
