Burned Piston

Has anyone had a 2006 Dodge Charger with the 5.7L go down with a burned piston? We have one of ours in the shop with a burned piston that will require a complete engine replacement, at 43,000 miles. We were able to get Dodge to extend a "goodwill" warranty on the engine and we are on the hook for $250.00 of the $8,000 bill.

Engine Knock

We have had an engine knock problem on most of our V6 Chargers. They go to the dealer where they reside for a week or two and withing a few days of their return to service the knock returns. Anyone experience this?

Water Pumps

One of our 2007 Charger's with the Hemi needed a new water pump around 40,000 miles. At the Fleet show we asked Chrysler about it and they said they have not heard about any others with water pump problems. Today we had another water pump go out on a 2007 with 36,200 miles on it. Has anyone with the Hemi's had any water pump issues?

Rifle Mounts

We are looking into getting new rifles and mounts for the trunks. Wanted to know what other departments are doing with trunk mounts for the Charger's? What guns? What mounts? How well they are working?

Headlight Flasher

I have two 2007 Chargers we are getting ready to up fit. Our installer is concerned about putting the 47k resistor in to trigger the headlight flasher. There concern is if something goes wrong who will be responsible. Does anyone know if Chrysler will stand behind this, since they set it up and explain it in there up fitter guide?
If anyone can help please let me know.. Thanks

2007 Charger HEMI

I have one Charger that has recently started shutting off when idling for an extended period, in excess of an hour. The water temperature and oil pressure are normal. The car will restart but shuts off after 3 minutes. It will start again then shut off again after 3 minutes. The dealership cannot find any codes stored and cannot duplicate the problem. Does anyone out there have experience with this.

I am trying to wire the siren interrupt (park kill) on a Whelen CenCom to the P/N sensor of the Police/Taxi interface in an 07 Charger, but it doesn't seem to work. The Cencom, when it receives 12 volts to the input, will shut off the siren, but the P/N Switch Sense on the PTI doesn't seem to trigger it.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Charger motor mounts

We have found that a number of our Chargers with the Hemi engine have broken the motor mounts. They were repaired under warranty.The dealer did not stock the parts and the cars were at the dealer for more than a week waiting on parts.
The mounts were discovered under our normal inspection program.
Those fleets running Chargers should check the engine mounts during service work.

There is a function park kill wire in the new Charger. It is a thin yellow with blue stripe in the ignition harness.
