Is anyone noticing the 17" wheels (2007-08) seem to bend easier that previous model year wheels. I know the roads are bad with potholes and sometimes my guys drive like they are in Hazard County.

Maybe it is just me, I get a lot of complaints about vibration and it seems like every time I change tires the wheels are bent badly along the bead area.  ??

YES ! & the dealer wants $120 each ! but, we did find aftermarket for $90 .Then you have to deal with the pressure sensors

I have a slight vibration in my 06 but have not noticed anything wrong with the rims. I plan on taking it to a body shop to inspect the frame.

We also seeing the same problem, We've replaced about 8-10 rims already in 07-08 CV's.

Checked with ford, no recall out yet on them.

We have had more trouble with tire damage from curb & pothole strikes with the 17" wheels.  The wheels don't always bend, but the 17" tires have a lower sidewall than 16"s and the tires get "eyebrow" cuts at the bead from straight on impacts, or sidewall cuts from glancing impacts.  Tire pressure doesn't seem to have much effect - we tried 35 lbs. (door sticker) and 44 lbs. (tire maximum) with no discernable difference.

I keep a close watch on the 17" cars (24 Units) because operators don't always notice a missing chunk of sidewall rubber.
