Has anyone had a 2006 Dodge Charger with the 5.7L go down with a burned piston?  We have one of ours in the shop with a burned piston that will require a complete engine replacement, at 43,000 miles.  We were able to get Dodge to extend a "goodwill" warranty on the engine and we are on the hook for $250.00 of the $8,000 bill.

I have a 2006 Charger with the Hemi (47916 miles) that broke a piece off the top ring land as well as the top ring. Ruined the head and block. Found what appeared to be part of a copper electrical connector in adjacent cylinder. Something rattleing around in intake manifold. Chrysler is quoting $8000 repair, and denied any warranty due to Police use. Wish Chevy still made the caprice.
